How we collated Tesla prices:

1. For most countries, we pulled official prices from Tesla's website.
2. In all other countries, we gathered prices from dealers and individuals selling Tesla cars.
3. If sales adverts for new cars couldn't be found, we used the price on adverts selling cars with mileage less than 1,000km.
4. Prices are for the basic specification and include local taxes and fees.

How we calculated affordability:

1. We calculated the average price of a Tesla across all four models (S, 3, X and Y).
2. We divided the average income per capita for each country (World Bank) by the average Tesla price.
3. We converted currencies using xe.com.
